Description
Portrait of navy and army members in the office of Mr A T Sharp. Lieutenant (Lt) Douglas Bull, RN; 7851 Corporal and later Lieutenant Cyril Percy, MM, of South Yarra Victoria; and Engineer Lieutenant Reg Bull, RN. Lt Bull, enlisted on 7th October 1915 in the 4th Machine Gun Battalion and returned to Australia on 23rd July 1919. As Corporal Bull of the 13th Field Ambulance he was awarded the Military Medal on 4 October 1917. From the collection of Mr Alfred Thomas Sharp. Mr Sharp was the Commonwealth Immigration Officer of Victoria and was based in the London Office during the First World War. He and his wife hosted and visited many soldiers, particularly those from Victoria, who were recuperating in London. He also photographed many Australian graves in English cemeteries. His photograph collection relating to this period in London was bequeathed to the Memorial in 1922 after his death. During his time in London he was a member of the British Volunteer Regiment, serving with the Willesden Battalion, Middlesex Volunteer Regiment.

The Regimental Aid Post of the 15th Infantry Battalion, in the Ypres Sector, which was previously a German medical station, captured during the advance of Australian troops in this area. When the position was taken over a German doctor was attending to several wounded men.
