Extracting Victorian Heritage Database entries to add to DTHS website
We aim to continue to build a single DTHS Library which :
- contains as much information as possible and
- can be searched with a single query to cover everything we have accumulated.
To enable this, we want to extract content relevant to DTHS from other online databases and include them in our Library.
In this case, we want to extract from Victorian Heritage Database:
- Open word version of Doncaster Listing provided by DTHS
- Command-Click (MacOS) or Control-click (Windows) to open web page of first entry
- Click Download Report and save.
- Rename pdf report file with PlaceID. e.g. 22490.pdf
- Return to webpage.
- IF there are images on web page:
- click on each thumbnail to display full image
- right click on the display image and save as PlaceID with a letter appended e.g. 22490A.jpg
- if there are more images:
- click on second thumbnail to display full image
- right click on the display image and save as PlaceID with a letter appended e.g. 22490B.jpg
- continue for all images.
- Mark/Colour Highlight the completed entries on the word document to track what has been completed.
