Family Notices in Newspapers - Pioneer Women Selection

This post needs additional work:
  • Formatting - seperate each reference with a blank line
  • Find Trove source links for each article and copy the Harvard/Australian citation: e.g. "1998 'Financial boost for Yeshiva', The Australian Jewish News (Sydney, NSW : 1990 - 2008), 5 June, p. 11. , viewed 05 Jun 2021, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article261738460"

  • Copy sections to other articles where necessary
  • Insert DTHS master copy images of women

The National Library of Australia provides a useful on-line resource for historians and those researching their family histories. It can be found at: https://trove.nla.gov.au/
The library’s microfilm holdings of historic Australian newspapers, 1803 - 1954 have been digitised, i.e. they are scanned and transcribed using OCR (optical character recognition) software. The transcription by this software is an approximation at best, but the library has invited the public to log on and tidy up the text by comparing it with the scanned image and correcting inaccuracies.
This is an on-going project. At this stage the only Victorian newspaper covered is the Argus.
This folder contains a collection of family notices from The Argus newspaper that are relevant to the pioneer women of the Doncaster and Templestowe district. More will be added as they are found.
