Pruning competition - 21st August 1906
Pruning competition on one of Thomas Petty’s orchards – thought to be in Tram Rd. (a similar event is recorded in 1905) Pruning competitions appealed to orchard workers who needed speed to get through this arduous task on a large holding. Each contestant pruned six trees.
