In 2022, the Bendigo Bank Doncaster East Community Bank Branch office was refurbished. Carly Kluge, from the Community Bank sought assistance from Doncaster Templestowe Historical Society and Ben Frawley for images to create a mural behind the tellers depicting life in the area. The mural displayed in the bank was put together from these images by Ray Burtt, a Member of the Inverloch Historical Society

6. Doncaster Tower and Tower Hotel c1910: The hotel was built in 1895 to replace the original hotel building that was destroyed by fire. The 285 feet high tower was built in 1879. Just below the first landing of the tower is a sign advertising Latham's Prize Ales. DP0170
7. Serpell's corner store 1911 at the north-east corner of Doncaster and Williamsons Road. Built 1890, this two-storey polychromatic brick building became known as White's Corner in the 1940s. 18. Tower Hotel built in 1881 by Alfred Hummel. The building on the right contained bedrooms and a large entertainment room. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1895 and a new brick hotel built in front of the guest accommodation. DP0156

Arthur Arnott is at the controls, Thomas Draper and William Masters are on the running boards to his left and right, Benjamin J. Fink, with hands clasped, is standing halfway along the side of the car, and William Meader, the company Chairman, is third from the right. In the background is Edward Gallus' farm. 22. Walter Neal's bootmaker's shop 1919. Walter Neal's bootmakers shop and residence, Doncaster Road, with kerosene street lamp outside. The double-gable house and shop were built in the 1890s and were demolished in the 1960s. DP0757
23. E. S. & A. Bank in Doncaster Road. The centre section was built for Max Schramm as a home and school in 1864. About 1872, it was purchased by the Education Department for use solely as the Doncaster Primary School. About 1887 the new school was built nearby and the old school was sold to the bank. In 1909 the Bank added a timber banking chamber to the front and a residence at the rear. A picket fence marks the boundary line along Doncaster Road. DP0127

25. Doncaster looking towards Box Hill 1920. Elgar and Tram Roads met at a point at Doncaster Road. Showing the former tram shelter and refreshment room (then used as a private dwelling), a horse-drawn fruit wagon in foreground, and a power pole in Tram Road. The refreshment rooms were built by Edward A. Gallus during the period of the ill-fated Box Hill to Doncaster electric tramway. On the east side of Elgar Road can be seen the residences of William Behrens, and Ernest Hanke, while on the west side at the corner of Wilsons Road is the residence of Ernest Wittig. The photo was taken from an upstairs window of Richard Serpell's corner shop. DP0034

Olive Williamson and Isabel Margaret ['Girlie'] Williamson are 2nd and 3rd from the left hand end of the front row. Dora Bogle's sister Gladys is front row fourth from the left hand end. Ted Sheahan, who was a carpenter, built the tennis pavilion as his first job after his return from military duties during WW1. Ted Sheahan is in the back row, third from the left, between the two ladies wearing hats. It is believed the photo was taken on the opening of the pavilion in 1920. DP0529

30. Doncaster hotel 1905. A large number of men, women and children, all dressed in their best clothes, assembled in front of Stutt's Doncaster Hotel, corner of Main [now Doncaster] Road and Bismarck [now Victoria] Street, Doncaster. Probably, dinner held in the hotel following the opening of the Government Cool Stores on Thursday 16 March 1905. The men are wearing small shields pinned to their coats. There is a large lantern mounted on the wall near the entrance to the bar [presumably], and painted over the door are the words W. Stutt, Licensed Victualler. The building is the oldest part of the hotel, and the photo clearly shows the slated roof and the three chimneys. At the left is the function room which was added later. DP1122
